Man rescued from 2-alarm fire in Jamaica Plain

BOSTON (WHDH) - A man was rescued by firefighters in Jamaica Plain after he became trapped in his apartment by a fire.

Firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire on Bynner St. early Saturday morning.

The 80-year-old man was overcome with smoke from his first floor apartment. He was taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital.

One firefighters was transported by EMS for debris in the eye.

Four adults were displaced by the fire, but have a place to stay.

It's estimated that te fire caused $400,000 in damages.

Officials are investigating the cause.
