Team USA ready to face Team Canada

SOCHI, Russia (WHDH) -

The U.S. men's hockey team takes center stage Friday. They have a date with Canada in the semi-finals.

This game is a rematch of the gold medal game from Vancouver four years ago.

Some are saying this game is a chance for Team USA to get some revenge but the players themselves realize there's more on the line.

“At the end of the day, it's not about beating Canada, it's about winning the gold medal. There's a lot of good teams out there that we've had to play so far and we've handled those tests pretty well so far," Joe Pavelski said.

"Anytime you're playing for your country you want to represent it as best as you can. The Canadians obviously got our number in 2010 so it'd be nice to get them back," Patrick Kane said.

The puck drops between these two rivals at noon Friday on 7NBC.

"We came here this is the position we wanted to be in. Playing against Canada, obviously, win the gold medal last time, ya know one of the favorites coming into the tournament. So it's going to be a great game. We're looking forward to it. We just gotta keep doing our work and be as prepared as possible for this game,” Jonathan Quick said.

The winner of this game plays for gold on Sunday.
