Not exactly a great way to kick off a Friday….clouds, fog, drizzle, and showers…and a raw feeling to the air. It’s a warm front trying to deliver the goods…warm air. In July, these cruise through using Fast Lane but this time of year with 1-2 feet of snow on the ground it can be a messy process. Today is the latter with the clouds, drizzle & fog for the day as well as showers/steady rain between 4-9pm. As for temps they will warm across southeast MA and up into Boston with late day (after 4pm) temps into the 50s but for you folks north of the MA Pike you will spend much of the day with temps closer to 40. Showers move out later this evening and skies clear after midnight–watch for areas of re-freeze after midnight.

The weekend offers some mild weather and perhaps just as important…..storm-free weather. Saturday is the brighter of the two days with mostly sunny skies. Temps for everyone (north-south of the Pike) will reach the low 50s…fantastic late day winter day. On Sunday it’s still mild with highs in the mid 40s but more clouds begin to arrive during the afternoon. Still good for winter sports outside!

Those clouds are out ahead of an arctic front that (sadly) will come crashing through New England late Sunday night & Monday with more cold and even a little burst of light snow during the Monday morning commute. In fact, much of next week we will see a return to our colder than normal pattern.

That’s next weeks issue, enjoy our warm-up the next few days…and the weekend too!
