US Airways plane at Logan airport clips a de-icing vehicle

Posted: Updated:

A flight from Logan Airport to Philadelphia was delayed after the plane’s wing was clipped by a de-icing truck.

The flight was still on the ground when the collision occurred, no injuries were reported.

“I looked and I thought the truck looked really close and I thought ‘are we going to make it? Well they do this for a living’ and right about that time I heard a scratching noise,” Toni Duncan said.

US Airways flight 740 had 99 passengers and four crew members on board. No one was hurt.

“They told us we have to wait they have to verify what happened they told us maybe we could continue our travel but 20 minutes after they told us that we couldn’t,” Luisa Berjel said.

The FAA is investigating how this collision happened.

The passengers waited in long lines at the ticket counter trying to get a new flight for Wednesday.
