More snow is heading this way but this will be our last snow event….of the week (thought I was going to say winter? No way.) It’s not a nor’easter but it will cause travel headaches this afternoon/ early evening. The good news is that warmer weather takes over after this storm.
In fact, it’s this storm that will snowplow the arctic air out of New England for the remainder of the week but that plowing process in the atmosphere will result in a plowable snow for many of us. It shows up this morning as patchy, light snow but a steadier thump of snow will arrive around 1pm and linger until the storm departs around 5-6pm. That’s several hours of steady snow that will slow down commuters this afternoon and this evening. In terms of snow amounts, our *special* map in the maps section details the amounts.
This storm is potent but a fast mover so that by tomorrow it’s long gone and so is the cold air. Look for afternoon temps to reach the low 40s. Also arriving tomorrow afternoon is yet another storm–small & mild so rain gear needed after 1pm with some scattered rain showers. Even milder weather for Thursday/Friday with afternoon temps near 50!
