EAST BOSTON, Mass. (WHDH) - Police are searching for the man who may have attacked three women within four hours of each other in East Boston Monday.

Two of the women said the attacker tried to sexually assault them.

The first incident happened near Trenton Street around 4:30 p.m. Police said a man pushed a woman to the ground and tried to sexually assault her when she was taking out the trash.

About 20 minutes later in the same area, a woman said a man came up from behind her and knocked her to the ground.

The third incident happened near Chelsea Street just after 8 p.m. According to investigators, a man approached a woman, showed a knife, and then tried to sexually assault her before running away.

Police said the women gave similar descriptions of the man responsible in the attacks: the man was Hispanic with a medium build. A mole on his left cheek. Dressed in all black and smelled of alcohol.

Officers have increased patrols in the two areas. They are reminding women to be aware of their surroundings, especially when walking at night.
