MANCHESTER, N.H. (WHDH) - A young mom was robbed in broad daylight all while her daughter was right by her side.

Baby Aalya was in her car seat, her mom Ariel Dupuis had just set her down when a man armed with a steak knife snuck up on them.

It was 12:30 Saturday afternoon near their Manchester New Hampshire home, the robber demanded Ariel hand over her cash.

“He said give me everything you have and I said I didn't have anything. Then he didn't say another word not another word,” Dupuis said.

Before she could even react the man grabbed her purse and took off,

Leaving Ariel to run through what she would have done if he had threatened or demanded what was most valuable, her baby girl.

“Oh my God, this guy is going to kill me, this guy is going to kill my daughter. I can’t' help my daughter, I’m not going to be able to save her if he hurts me and if he hurts her when I’m already hurt what can I do? It's very scary,” Dupuis said.

She knows she did as much as she could to keep her and her baby safe Saturday and even though she was frightened, she remembered some good details about the perpetrator.

“I know I’m not going to get my stuff back but for someone else’s sake. It could happen to anyone,” she said.

The man police are looking for is described as being in his 50s with yellow / missing teeth, he also has a raspy voice.
