Quick hitting storm is long gone this morning but it did its thing. Sandwich picked up 15″ of snow…many cities & towns down on the Cape and south shore/coast regions getting close to 10″ of a heavy wet snow. Wind was an issue with numerous reports of tree damage as those winds (combining with the wet snow) gusted over 50 mph. Metro Boston was spared the heaviest snow with most location getting between 2-4″ of snow (4.0″ in Boston).
Let’s turn the page with mostly sunny skies on tap for the next two days. The issue with today will be some lingering wind behind that gorilla storm, at times, gusting to 30 mph. As we step into ththafternoon, the wind will begin to subside. Seasonably cold say with afternoon temps in the upper 20s.
Monday offers some fantastic winter weather with more sunshine but barely any wind—that’s huge this time of year. Should be a great winter day for skiing, sledding, snowshoeing with afternoon temps in the upper 20s.
Another snow “storm” is heading this way for Tuesday. It’s not a big deal but snow will fly & pile up. It looks to begin after the morning commute and continue through the evening commute. As of now, plan on 2-3″ of snow around the region—-higher amounts along the MA/NH border and lower amounts on the South Shore/South Coast.
In any event, the pattern flips to a warmer one with temps heading into the 40s for Wednesday and beyond. I’m ready for that.
