MANSFIELD, Mass. (WHDH) - A plane was involved in an accident at Mansfield Airport Saturday morning.

According to police, the student pilot was practicing landings, came in too low and too far from the preferred landing area.

The plane's wheels hit a snow bank, damaging the right side landing gear, which later snapped, causing the plane to go into a controlled skid off the runway.

The pilot was not injured.

The plane suffered approximately $45,000 in damage.
