Man...if you're a fan of winter you definitely haven't been cheated this winter. What a storm yesterday and we still have some pieces of that storm with us early this morning in the form of snow showers. These snow showers will quickly fade away by 9am allowing sunshine to return during the day. Wind will also reappear--at times gusting to 40 mph this afternoon. Dry this evening for Valentine's Day plans.
Don't look now but here comes another storm---spring is 34 days away---and this storm will toss more snow into New England this weekend. This next storm will be moving faster than it predecessor and it's not starting in the Gulf of Mexico..so, that means it can;t do as much damage or produce more snow. Also, this storm will focus most of its snowfall across SE MA/Cape/Islands. Saturday morning is dry but light snow is set to arrive between 2-3pm and quickly intensify late afternoon-evening. The last flakes fall around midnight. Poor travel is likely across SE MA as well as the Cape/islands Saturday evening. Our *special* map in the maps section details the snow potential.
In any event, the storm is outta here on Sunday but it's a blustery & cold day with temps in teh 20s. Next week is vacation week for many families and it will offer some great winter/skiing weather with seasonably mild temps and no big storms (might have a little storm early Tuesday morning).
Be safe out there today with that leftover slush, ice & snow.
