Suspected burglar found passed out in store's ceiling

Posted: Updated:
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (WHDH) -
Police in North Andover responded to an alarm at a convenience store early Monday morning and found the suspect still on the scene.

Officials secured the scene, but what they saw when they entered the business with the owner was not what they expected.

Police say 26-year-old Justin Roeger was in the store’s drop ceiling unconscious.

After cutting power to the building medical workers who were worried Roeger had been electrocuted found that he was alive, but passed out.

Roeger, who lives right next to the convenience store, appeared in court Monday on charges of breaking and entering, malicious damage to property and larceny.

In court prosecutors alleged that Roeger was under the influence of alcohol. They say he broke in and stole more than $250 worth of scratch tickets.
