As slopestyle makes its Olympic debut in Sochi, Jamie Anderson is the leading figure in the new event as the 23-year-old is already a four-time X Games champion. The South Lake Tahoe native was homeschooled – along with her seven siblings – allowing her to spend full days riding at Sierra at Tahoe before coming home and studying in the evenings. Anderson is deeply committed to environmentalism and sustainable living, as evidenced by her pre-competition routine of hugging a tree.
