Man allegedly robbed Rockland package store with knife

ROCKLAND, Mass. (WHDH) - Officers arrested a man on Saturday after he allegedly robbed a package store in Rockland.

According to police, Paul Barker, 29, robbed the Union St. Package Store with a knife. He was wearing a white scarf covering a portion of his face.

He fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police set up a perimeter and that's when officers observed two suspicious males. While questioning the two men, Barker fled from officers on foot. Police were able to place him into custody after a short pursuit.

Barker has been charged with armed robbery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

He was denied bail and is current at the Plymouth House of Correction where he awaits arraignment at Hingham District Court on Monday.
