Man pinned by car at Dorchester gas station

DORCHESTER, Mass. (WHDH) - A man was struck by a vehicle while standing at a gas pump in Dorchester Sunday morning.

The Boston Fire Department said that at around 8:17 a.m., a man was standing outside the Citgo gas station on Morrissey Blvd. with his car when he was struck from behind by another vehicle.

The force moved his car out of the station and pinned the victim between the car that hit him and one of the posts protecting the pumps.

Firefighters were able to free the man. He was taken to the hospital with a serious leg injury.

Hazmat cleanup was underway by 1:20 p.m.

Police are investigating the incident.
