The first-ever figure skating team event began Thursday at the Sochi Olympics, with Russia in the lead and the U.S. in a three-way tie for fifth. The dramatic competition was filled with cheers, thrills, spills and yet another set of bright, yellow pants (Maksim Trankov’s yellow pants has its own Twitter handle!).
