7's Nancy Chen goes bobsledding

Posted: Updated:
SOCHI, Russia (WHDH) -

7’s Nancy Chen got to try out some high speed bobsledding before heading to the Olympics.

80 miles an hour, 20 curves and one minute of sheer terror. Also known as bobsledding at lake placid.

Her coaches were Peabody native Caleb Pelger and Cody Baskew, who both trained with the U.S. Olympic Team.

Before she went on her ride, 7’s Nancy Chen had to put on a helmet and body suit for protection.

And right before the plunge, she was told it’s like “being pushed down a hill in a trash can.”

7’s Nancy Chen went down a mile long stretch at top speed, and slammed into each bump along the way with the G-force stunning her into silence.

However, she was extremely proud to show off her bruises.
