Leno's final show kicked off with some career advice from Jay's celebrity friends and former guests including Matt Damon, Charlie Sheen, and even President Obama.
"I've decided to make you our new ambassador for Antarctica. Hope you've got a warm coat funny man,” said Obama.
Next, Jay's very first guest from 1992, Billy Crystal led a musical tribute with some famous faces singing an ode to Leno.
Oprah sang, "If you were me, you'd buy them all a care."
And more music from country singer Garth Brooks who is one of leno's favorite artists.
And in the end, Jay did breakdown as he thanked his fans and his staff.
"This has been the greatest 22 years of my life,” he said.
Jay ended his final show with a sendoff from his predecessor, the late Johnny Carson.
“And he said I bid you all a heartfelt goodnight,”
Leno grew up in Andover, Mass. Jimmy Fallon takes over The Tonight Show later this month.
