Student accused of Endicott attacks appeared in court

SALEM, Mass. (WHDH) - An Endicott College sophomore appeared in court on Thursday on charges that allege he sucker punched some of his classmates.

Dillion DeStefano, 19, allegedly was playing a game called "Knockout," which involves knocking out an innocent bystander with one punch, according to prosecutors.

They called the attacks vicious and unprovoked.

DeStefano was taken into custody after pleading not guilty to charges of aggravated assault and battery in connection with the two random attacks on campus last weekend. He is being held without bail.

The victims suffered serious injuries. One has a broken eye socket and the other a broken jaw.

There was another attack, but the victim only suffered minor injuries.

Students who knew the victims are outraged.

"It's crazy. We don't want to see it. We love it here. We have a lot of fun here and we want to make sure it's over with," said Nick Roberts, a student at Endicott College.

DeStefano's parents had no comment.
