Endicott College student accused of violent attacks

Posted: Updated:
BEVERLY, Mass. (WHDH) - A 19-year-old Endicott College student is charged with unprovoked attacks on three students over the weekend.

According to police Dillon Destefano was walking across campus Saturday night into Sunday morning with two friends when he sucker punched three people in attacks similar to the knockout game.

“It always makes it harder if it’s an on campus student but it’s better. Our students came together very quickly and gave us all the information we needed on who and what happened and it was a community effort on the part of students,” Endicott College president Dr. Richard Wylie said.

The college sophomore was reportedly bragging to his friends about the violent attacks which left one victim with a broken jaw and another with broken facial bones.

“There were at least one or two students who knew this was absolutely wrong and they communicated directly to us, and then other students stepped forward,” Wylie said.

The two students who were with Destefano at the time of the assaults have not been charged, but all three have been suspended from the college.
