HARTFORD, Conn. (WHDH) -
An alleged associate of Aaron Hernandez is in the hospital recovering after a shootout in a Connecticut club.
Police arrested Alexander Bradley Sunday night after he reportedly got into an argument over some money.
Bradley was shot in the leg, but he was also reportedly firing back; police say they found 11 bullet casings from a stolen gun that he had been firing.
“Inside the car was obviously Alexander Bradley suffering from gunshot wound to his thigh. Officers observed blood all over the vehicle at different spots,” Hartford Police Lt. Brian Foley said.
It was Bradley who filed suit against Aaron Hernandez last year after Hernandez was arrested in connection with Odin Lloyd’s murder.
Bradley claims Hernandez shot him in the face outside a club in Florida last year.
Recently released court documents reveal Boston Police believe Bradley and Hernandez were in an SUV when someone opened fire killing two men in the South End in July of 2012.
Police said Sunday’s shootout was the result of a confrontation over money. They would not say if it was related to Aaron Hernandez.
“If it was, I certainly couldn’t talk about it nor am I going to. However as a matter of common courtesy in our agency and sharing info, Boston Police contacted us this morning and we did tell them about that information that we had,” Foley said.
Bradley faces five charges from the shootout including; criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, stealing a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
