Cambridge woman arrested in connection with fatal stabbing

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WHDH) - A Cambridge woman accused of a fatal stabbing is expected to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on Monday.

Malia Gomez, 40,  was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man early Sunday morning.

Police responded to a home on Putnam Ave. at 6:23 a.m. where they found the victim on the porch of the building with a stab wound.

Dana Robinson, 46, was transported to Beth Israel Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Gomez was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and armed assault with intent to murder.

Officials are still investigating, although the suspect and the victim were known to each other, so it doesn't appear to be random.

The home was blocked off by crime tape for several hours before the District Attorney's office confirmed the incident.

Neighbors reported hearing a lot of yelling from the home in the early hours of the morning.

"Didn't seem so bad that I needed to call anybody about it," said neighbor Andy Constantine, who heard the shouting at around 4:00 a.m.

The man who found the body and called 911 said he can't get the image out of his mind.

Neighbors told reporters that they had concerns for the suspect, saying that she has been acting erratically for several weeks.
