FREETOWN, Mass. (WHDH) - A Freetown man is facing multiple charges, including drug charges, after police received a 911 call saying he was assaulting his wife with a samurai sword.

Robert Reynolds, Jr., 33, charged at an officer and had to be subdued with the help of a taser.

An investigation revealed that Reynolds had also attempted to strangle his wife.

Another officer found crack cocaine and isolated the scene until a search warrant could be obtained. After, police seized 139 grams of cocaine, packaging materials and a cutting agent. Police also found $1,400 in cash and scales.

Reynolds is charged with trafficking crack cocaine, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, attempted murder and assault and battery.

A judge set bail at $50,000 cash.

He's expected to appear in district court on Monday.
