Seth Meyers signing off on SNL

Posted: Updated:
UNDATED (NBC) - This Saturday night will be the last SNL for head writer and "Weekend Update" host Seth Meyers, but it's far from the last we'll see of him.

Next month Meyers takes over NBC's "Late Night" show as Jimmy Fallon moves up to "The Tonight Show".

Meyers joined SNL 12 years ago and worked his way up to anchor of "Weekend Update" in 2006.

His recent co-anchor Cecily Strong will go it alone on the "Update" desk going forward.

This week, Meyers was a guest on "Late Night," where Jimmy Fallon passed down the "Late Night" pickle, a tradition started by the writers of David Letterman's version of the show.

Meyers promises to put his own spin on "Late Night," including more of the kind of comedy he knows best.
