LINCOLN, Mass. (WHDH) - The Lincoln Police Department unveiled a plaque on Saturday in honor of the MIT Police Officer killed following the Boston Marathon bombing.

The permanent memorial is in the lobby of the town's public safety building.

The unveiling was attended by his immediate family.

"Thank you to all who donated funds to make this possible," said Lincoln Police's Facebook page.

Sean Collier was shot and killed by the marathon bombers while sitting in his patrol car at MIT in the days following the bombings.
