BOSTON (WHDH) - An elderly man ran his car into a South Boston realty office Saturday morning.

Police got a call at around 9:36 a.m. that a car had ran into Jack Conway Realty on East Broadway.

According to police, the driver put the car into reverse in the Rite Aid parking lot across the street, sending him across traffic on Broadway and into the side of the office.

Mike Foley was inside the real estate office when the car crashed into the building.

"The building shook, there was a big bang. I ran outside," he said.

The city building inspector was on the scene to make sure the building didn't collapse.

Firefighters had to cut through a guard rail in order to assist the tow truck. The car was removed by 11:00 a.m.

The man was able to free himself from the vehicle. He was treated and transported by Boston EMS. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
