That’s it. The cold has left for a few days as temperatures are starting the day near 30 and will head to 40 by afternoon. As we work  through the weekend those numbers will climb through the 40s and perhaps even flirt with 50 by Sunday afternoon (South Shore has best chance at 50 Sunday PM).

The trade-off with this mild stretch is that the sky will be flooded with clouds for the next 3 days. Yes, there will be some sun each day but nothing like we saw yesterday. The reason for the clouds is a large but disorganized weather system that can’t do much to keep you winter enthusiasts inside. Sunday might be the one day where an isolated shower pops up between 11am-3pm (more likely only some sprinkles).

What is also coming down the pike is a stormy stretch of weather next week. We will watch 3 potential winter storms. The first is Monday but as of now, it passes too far south of New England to pester us (but watch Chris this weekend in case the track changes). The 2nd threat is late Tuesday night-Wednesday. This threat is legit as a storm will form in the southern states & head for New England. Too far away for details but I would plan on snow, sleet and eventually rain for much of the region on Wednesday. The final threat is about 10 days away (next weekend) and is only a threat at this point. Good times.

Enjoy that mild air today!

PS…it looks like Punxsutawney Phil will not see his shadow on Sunday morning. Early spring (so says Phil)!
