Mother of marathon bomber speaks out on death penalty
BOSTON (WHDH) -
The mother of the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects voiced her reaction to the verdict that the U.S. AG will pursue the death penalty for her son, Dzhokhar.
Zubeidat Tsarnaev talked to a CNN reporter while the U.S. Attorney General was contemplating the decision.
She was asked how she felt about the chance her son could face the death penalty.
"We are thinking about our child. We have nothing in our heads or in our hearts. So what do you want me to hear? What would I say at all? What I want the whole world to hear is that I love my son. My precious Dzhokhar. That's all. Ok? Please, leave me alone. I have nothing to say anymore. A million times, a million times. I love my son,” said Zubeidat Tsarnaev.
Tsarnaev's mother also said she is sickened by the whole ordeal.
It is uncertain if Dzhokhar’s parents plan to travel to the U.S. for the trial.
