BOSTON (WHDH) -
Billy Joel will be performing at Fenway Park for his first solo headlining concert in the city in five years.
The Piano Man will be performing at the historic ballpark in June.
Don Law, President of Live Nation New England, said that he was excited to bring the artist to the park, reminiscing about a 1970s concert.
"When Billy first played here in the early 70s, he played 'Paul's Mall," and the power went out. Billy then asked for a flashlight, put the flashlight on his keyboard, continued to play his entire show and tore up the house," Law said.
Joel will join the other legendary artists that have performed at the park, including Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen.
The artist has received six Grammy Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award.
He's recently been headlining a series of shows at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Tickets for the concert go on sale next Saturday.
