Quincy pizza worker speaks out after pickaxe robbery

Posted: Updated:
The robber slammed a large pickaxe into the wall of a Quincy Domino's pizza shop and demanded cash.

The worker at this Domino's, who wanted to remain anonymous, said when the gas mask wearing robber came in he thought it was a joke, or possibly a construction worker.

"It was a loud boom. That's when I was like, what was that? That's when I noticed he was being serious," said the worker.

Surveillance video shows the worker back up and the masked man strike the wall with the ax.

“He asked for money. I thought it was a prank so I said ‘no, I’m not giving you the money’ he said ‘seriously give me money.’ I said ‘I'm seriously going to call cops,” the worker recalled.

The worker gave the robber the money and calmly called police after the robber fled.

Two days after this seemingly terrifying experience, the 30-year-old college student said he wasn't afraid.

Police say they believe they know who the suspect is but have not made an arrest.
