State police are looking for the pickup truck driver they said is responsible for a fatal car crash.
Sky7HD was over the scene of the crash on Route 128 near the Burlington Mall.
Police said an older model white pickup truck with plywood siding on the bed was driving through the area when they lost a mattress out of the back of the truck.
The woman behind that truck slammed on her brakes to avoid the debris.
"While she was stopping, a subject in a red pickup truck drove into the back of her car, flipped over her car, causing extremely serious injuries to the party,” Mass. State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Joachim said.
Troopers wasted no time immediately performing CPR on the 56-year-old woman to keep her alive. She was rushed to the hospital, but later died.
The driver of the truck that struck the woman’s car was not seriously hurt.
Police said there were two men in the truck that lost the mattress.
"We have witnesses who saw them stop about a mile down the road and strap the load back on the truck,” Joachim said.
State police have not said what charges could be filed, only that they are more focused on finding the truck that lost part of its load.
"We are looking for a white international cab style truck at this time that had mattresses and other debris in the back of it,” Joachim said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Mass. State Police Concord Barracks at (978) 369-4100.
