Daft Punk, The Beatles win at 2014 Grammys

Posted: Updated:

It was music's biggest night and the biggest winners from Sunday: Those robots from France.

Daft Punk got lucky at the Grammys Sunday night with five awards, including album of the year. The helmeted Frenchmen who don't speak in public performed their hit song "Get Lucky" with Stevie Wonder, then minutes later claimed record of the year with collaborator Pharrell doing the talking.

Song of the year went to New Zealand teenager Lorde, who also took home best pop solo performance.

Thrift shop hip hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis scored four Grammys, including best rap album and best new artist. They got on the stage again to perform their gay-rights song "Same Love," joined by Queen Latifah, Madonna, and several couples for an emotional in-show wedding.

That was one of many memorable performances on the night.

Surviving Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr shared the stage for the 50th anniversary of the legendary group's arrival in America. The Beatles received the lifetime achievement award and McCartney and Dave Grohl won rock song of the year award.
