We do have a warm up for the day but for many of us it will be short-lived and perhaps completely missed you you don’t venture outside between 10a-4p. Temps have been warming overnight–some towns faster than others (IE New Bedford sitting at 43 while Bedford sits at 19–7am) and this warming continues for the remainder of the morning pushing temps for all of us into the low 40s.
At this same time, an arctic front is barreling across New York and will blast into New England this afternoon. This front marks the leading edge of much colder air and is also creating a batch of rain & snow showers. You can plan on isolated rain showers around metro Boston and wet snow showers along and west of I-495 from about 10am until 3pm. Again, they won’t be widespread—rather, hit-n-miss.
Once this front plows through here this afternoon the temps will sharply fall from 40 at 2pm until 25 degrees by 5pm. #DramaticDrop. As the evening goes on the arctic cold will pour in sending temps into the teens and eventually single numbers by early Tuesday morning. Tuesday and Wednesday will be bitterly cold with temps both day struggling to reach the lower 20s. By late week, those temps will moderate with afternoon highs reaching the 30s to around 40.
