Gov. Patrick to address DCF controversy

Posted: Updated:
Gov. Deval Patrick will hold a press conference Monday morning to address the controversy in the Department of Children and Families.

He will meet with representatives from the Child Welfare League of America, which was recently hired to investigate the agency in response to criticism after the case of the missing Fitchburg boy went public.

The governor will also discuss what steps he thinks should be taken next.

“I think we’ll be able to give them more targeted areas for focus and be clear about the expectations of their work,” said Brendan Ryan, chief of staff to the governor.
