UNDATED (NBC) -- -
A Kansas City man became a sperm donor, but may be forced to pay child support despite the fact that he said he waived his parental right before the child was even born.
William Marotta answered a Craiglist ad for a sperm donor to help a gay couple have a child.
He’s now saying “no good deed goes unpunished,” after the state of Kansas said it was demanding reimbursement of child support payments made to the couple.
This is all despite the fact that they had all signed a contract and agreed Marotta would not have any parental responsibilities.
This week a Kansas judge ruled against Marotta, insisting he broke a law, "because the parties did not provide the donor sperm to a licensed physician...the donor therefore can be determined to be the father of the child."
