MIAMI (WSVN) -- Pop singer Justin Bieber did not rent the now infamous yellow Lamborghini that led to his arrest following an alleged drag race in Miami Beach, according to the owner of the luxury car rental agency that provided the vehicle.

The 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Bieber was allegedly driving when police pulled him over Thursday morning was later returned to Lou La Vie, the Florida-based company where the sports car was acquired. "It's a 550-horsepower car," said Lou La Vie founder John Temerian. "Top speed is almost 198 miles per hour."

Bieber and rapper Khalil were arrested Thursday, around 4 a.m., near Pine Tree Drive and 41st Street for allegedly drag racing and driving under the influence.

Temerian said that the embattled singer did not rent the souped-up luxury rental. "He actually didn't rent it," he said. "We loaned it to a family friend of his, so it was like a friend thing."

Lou La Vie's president described the person who rented the vehicle as much older than Bieber. The company makes it clear in its policy a driver must be 25 years old to rent their cars. Special arrangements are available to drivers between 21 and 25 years old.

Temerian said he was surprised when he heard about Bieber's arrest. "I think I was more shocked to be woken up that morning, but hey, everything happens for a reason," he said.

According to the CEO of rival rental company Imagine Lifestyles, Bieber attempted to rent out high-speed cars from them but was turned down. "We got a call earlier in the week that he was coming down and needed a couple of cars," said Jared Jukel. "I hadn't seen any of the paperwork, but just knowing that he's only 19 years old, we just kind of said, 'Thank you, but no, thank you.'"

At the King of Diamonds strip club, Bieber reportedly dropped $75,000 in $1 bills for entertainment purposes. Club officials issued a statement that reads in part, "Mr. Bieber was not served any alcohol during his visit."

The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder involved in Bieber's arrest is available to rent at Lou La Vie for $1700 a day. It has an estimated retail cost of $250,000.

You can work up a great big hunger when you're an action hero, especially if you're playing a guy who's half man, half god.
