Man, dog rescued after falling through ice

Firefighters rescued a man that fell into icy waters after he had fallen in trying to save his dog.

Cell phone video taken at the scene shows firefighters rushing to help the man, who is in his sixties, and how the man fell in.

The dog had fallen into the water and his owner went out to try and save him, but also got stuck as well.

According to witnesses, the scene was panicked as people tried to help the man.

“He was screaming. We were screaming. Everybody's looking for a rope in their trunk. Nobody had ropes. Nobody could help him,” said Shari Ford.

The dog was already out by the time rescuers arrived.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for hypothermia symptoms.
