Kobe Bryant sits in on B.C. business class

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (WHDH) - Boston College students got a surprise Friday when a new big man showed up on campus.

LA Laker Kobe Bryant was in town for a game against the Celtics, he also attended his first international marketing class.

"The ironic thing he was talking about how the NBA is a multinational corporation, they’ve globalized. And how Kobe sold more jerseys than any player combined. Then, literally a minute later, Kobe walks in the room,” Sophomore Dylan Ironside said after class.

Kobe said he's always had an interest in international marketing so he looked up classes and since he's injured this class fit right into his schedule.

"I just feel like it's important to try and further your education,” Bryant said.

Dylan said the super star was open to talking with the students.

"It was pretty hard to figure out a question when you meet a superstar that big,” he said.

Kobe even stayed after class to sign autographs and take pictures.

"He was a really nice guy, the whole class lined up to take pictures with him afterward he had no complaints and was real casual about it." 7:15:35

Even though Dylan got a picture with Kobe, the Celtics he says are still his number one team!!

"He's far from one of my favorite players, but being there in person I obviously respect the guy he's an unbelievable competitor,” Dylan said.

Kobe later tweeted "Learn. Learn. Learn. thank you #BC #internationalmarketing Education never stops."

The professor of that class said his only trouble will be living up to this class with Bryant as a guest.
