Cape man reportedly admits to taking secretive pictures

Posted: Updated:
Police on Cape Cod arrested a man who they say admitted to taking secretive pictures of unknown girls at a local beach.

45-year-old Adam Polakowski was arrested at his West Yarmouth house early Tuesday morning.

“People here on vacation, everybody has cameras, everybody's taking pictures, you just don't know what their intent is,” Yarmouth Police Sgt. Walter Warren said.

The beach has not been identified, but Yarmouth police do not believe any local children were victimized.

The complaint goes on to detail some 800 images of child porn found on Polakowski's computer.

They tracked him down through 36 explicit emails shared with an Arizona man.

Federal agents say Polakowski owned a utility van that contained, among other things, a baseball bat, rope cord and rolls of tape.

The complaint says Polakowski took a picture of the contents of that van and emailed it to his pen pal in Arizona, along with a photo of a young girl.

They say he asked which tool in his vehicle he should use on her.

Federal agents say Polakowski told them he had been collecting child porn for at least seven years and that he had fantasies about abducting and raping children.
