DORCHESTER, Mass. — Boston police have charged 36-year-old Olivia Mora with homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence in connection to a fatal accident in Dorchester Tuesday evening.

Mora allegedly hit a parked car, lost control of her vehicle then hit the little girl and her mom.

"You could see like the driver that hit the little girl. She had it in reverse and she was still gassing like she was trying to leave the scene of the accident. When I first walked over to try and get to the driver, the little girl was crawling, her hands just fell. I don't know what happened after that, come to find out she passed,” Ibrantino Alves said.

The mother has a broken leg, but no other serious physical injuries.

"A tragedy at this time of year, Thanksgiving. A young mom and her 7-year-old walking home,” Acting Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said.

A makeshift memorial has been started where the girl died.
