BOSTON (WHDH) — As you pack your lunch, there's reason to think twice about a tuna sandwich.

New research said some children may be ingesting high levels of mercury because of those sandwiches.

A consumer advocacy group tested nearly 60 samples of canned tuna and said albacore or white tuna can triple a child's mercury exposure.

The group recommends that kids under 55 pounds only eat tuna once a month.

Consumer advocates are calling on the USDA to get rid of tuna in school lunchrooms.
