It's the same challenge many candidates face a nano-second after all the votes are counted:  switching from campaigning to governing. 

And they're not the same.

Marty Walsh ran a very effective campaign–the final tally proves that.  But this also race split the city–into the groups that became known as the two Bostons.

But Walsh is now mayor of both Bostons…and he won't be successful if he sides with one boston against the other.

As a candidate, the most important word for Walsh was "union"…

As mayor, it  should be "unity."

And his very gracious victory speech was a good start.
