FITCHBURG, Mass. (WHDH) — A Fitchburg teacher was arraigned in Worcester Superior Court Friday.

Rachelle Gendron, 27, was charged with enticing a child under 16 years of age and five counts of rape aggravated by age difference.

Gendron is a former female health and sex ed. teacher at North Central Charter Essential

School in Fitchburg.

She was fired from the school, where she worked as a teacher for five years. According to the District Attorney’s office, she raped the 14-year-old student five times between October 2012 and March 2013. Investigators also discovered text messages between the two where she exposed her breasts and genitals.

The student is no longer enrolled at the school.

If convicted, there will be a state-mandated sentence of ten years. Gendron pleaded not guilty in court.
