FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — A Connecticut woman has been charged with slapping her daughter at the younger woman's wedding reception in Massachusetts.

Prosecutors say 55-year-old Leslie Duane of West Haven, Conn., slapped her 35-year-old daughter Sunday at the Arabian Horse Farm Inn in Sudbury.

The MetroWest Daily News reports that Duane was freed on $200 bail and ordered to have no contact with her daughter after pleading not guilty to assault and battery Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Duane became heavily intoxicated after the wedding ceremony and caused a scene. The bride and several other guests escorted Duane out of the reception. Duane allegedly slapped her daughter as she was helping her into a car.

Duane's lawyer said the younger woman tried to bail out her mother and said the no contact order was too much.
