Man found dead in car in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WHDH) -- Framingham police are looking for a person who was said to be wearing a Halloween-type mask when they shot and killed a man sitting in a car outside the Normandy Apartment complex.

Authorities say they do not believe it was a random shooting.

Police responded to the Normandy Arms apartments just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.

There they found 21-year-old Juan Lopez, a 2010 Framingham High grad, in the driver's seat of his Subaru suffering from a gunshot wound.

“We just heard the shot, we didn’t see nothing. The cop came quick,” said Carmen Cora..

Lopez was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police the shooter was wearing a white "Halloween-type mask" and a black sweater. A mask matching the description was later found in nearby Natick.

The young man would come into a barber shop adjacent to the crime scene to have his haircut.

“We didn't see no trouble. It was just a normal guy coming in and cool kid, you know,” said Leivy Bautista of Grandes Ligas Barber Shop.

Police officers with the dogs trained to track people were out working the area, focusing on the woods with a stream running through it. There was no word on what evidence has been collected.

Framingham and state police are working on a joint investigation. The district attorney's office says they have leads and they are following them.
