WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (AP) — Williamstown police say a Vermont man has died in a head-on crash in front of the local high school.
Police say 64-year-old Lawrence George, of Pownal, Vt., was heading south when his Hyundai Elantra was struck by a northbound Ford Explorer that had crossed the center line in front of Mount Greylock Regional High School.
George was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Berkshire Eagle reports that the driver of the Ford, 34-year-old William Lowe, of Pawtucket, R.I., and a female passenger, were transported to Berkshire Medical Center for injuries not considered life-threatening.
Both vehicles were totaled.
The investigation is ongoing and there was no word on charges.
