SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Police say two sisters missing in Springfield since Sunday have been found and are unharmed.

The Springfield Police Department says on its Facebook page that 6-year-old Madyson "Mady" Figueroa and 14-year-old Janessa Figueroa-Reim were found walking in the city Monday.

The department says the sisters have been brought to the Youth Assessment Center for evaluation and an investigation is continuing.

Their mother, Kristy Reim, told The Republican newspaper they were last seen walking in their neighborhood at about 11 a.m. Sunday.

Police officers including a K-9 unit searched the neighborhood Sunday into Monday as temperatures plunged below freezing. Police were also checking into Janessa's Facebook posts.
