STRAFFORD, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State police say a man who walked with his injured children for more than a mile to a friend's house instead of calling authorities following a crash is facing criminal charges.

Troopers say 40-year-old Justin Galenski of Fairlee was charged Sunday with leaving the scene of an accident, reckless endangerment, cruelty to children and violating conditions of release.

Troopers say his sons ages 4 and 9 suffered concussions, a broken arm, broken clavicle, bumps, bruises and lacerations. Troopers were alerted when the boys received treatment the day after the Nov. 12 crash on a snow-covered road in Stafford.

Galenski said Sunday that he loves his sons and described the crash as an accident. He said he was advised not to comment further. He's due in court next month.
