HYANNIS, Mass. (WHDH) — A Cape Cod man had a close call Tuesday night when a bullet hit his car as he was driving down Route 6.
Richard Josselyn said that somebody fired off a gun as he was heading to work eastbound on Route 6 between exits four and five shortly before 11:00 p.m., the bullet striking his driver’s side door.
Had the bullet gone all the way through the door, Josselyn might have been shot.
He reported he heard a bang, but kept driving because he initially thought it was a stray rock.
Officials are still wondering where the bullet came from. Some think that it could have been hunter taking a shot at an animal.
Police said that they stepped up patrols on Wednesday and inspected the approximate spot of the incident, but found nothing suspicious.
