BOSTON (AP) — Boston Red Sox principal owner John Henry, who recently purchased The Boston Globe, says the newspaper will work to remain "aggressively relevant" in the changing media environment.

Henry outlined in broad terms some priorities for the Globe, New England's largest newspaper, during a speech to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.

Henry purchased the Globe from The New York Times Co. for $70 million in October. Without elaborating, he said the 141-year-old newspaper would concentrate on what it does well and eliminate the things it does not do well.

He said the Globe would explore new ways of attracting advertisers and sponsors.

Henry also said the newspaper planned to announce a program to offer subscribers vouchers that can be directed to the charity of their choice.
