Former school official 48-year-old Steven Orloff appeared in federal court Tuesday on child pornography charges.
Investigators say the Framingham man posed as a 14-year-old boy online, and persuaded six teenage girls to send him nude pictures.
“The statements against him are mere allegations. If you see in the courtroom, there’s a witness stand and we have not heard from one witness today,” said Defense Attorney Hank Brennan.
The Department of Children and Families is also being sued for allowing Orloff to be a foster parent.
Orloff was the the director of student services for Stoneham Public Schools when he was arrested back in 2012. He was arraigned in Framingham District Court on charges that included distribution of obscene matter.
